German Law Journal 25th Anniversary

We are thrilled to announce the program marking the German Law Journal‘s 25th Anniversary. Please use the QR code to register to join us in Berlin on 20 September 2024 as we reflect on the Journal’s past, present, and future. We’re thrilled that we’ve organized a very impressive program to celebrate the Journal.  First, we will have keynote presentations from two of Europe’s most prominent Justice Ministers, both of whom are on the front-line of efforts to defend or restore the rule of law. German Justice Minister Buschmann recently led negotiations over constitutional reforms aimed at protecting the integrity of Germany’s Federal Constitutional Court.  They were prompted by widespread concern about the rising success of right-wing political movements in Germany.  Adam Bodnar, the Minister of Justice for Poland, was recently featured in a lengthy NY Times article that focused on his desperate work to reestablish the rule of law after years of democratic backsliding in Poland.  Second, we will have panel discussions featuring the Journal’s founders and its current leadership.  Finally, we have assembled a remarkable group of scholarly luminaries from around the world to reflect on the Journal’s future and the legal issues that might fill its pages for the next 25 years.  The day will end with a celebratory toast and dinner. We hope to see you there.
